What We Believe

The Word of God is the Foundation of the Church

Core Beliefs

Our core beliefs are based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical doctrines.

God  the Father

The Scriptures teach that there is one, and only one, true and living God; an infinite, intelligent Spirit whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. We believe that, in the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, with each being equal in divine perfection, and executing different offices in the great work of redemption. God is all powerful, all loving, and all wise.

God the Son

We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He perfectly revealed God's will, lived a sinless life, and died to redeem humanity. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and now reigns at God's right hand as the sole Mediator between God and man. He will return in glory to judge the world and complete His redemptive mission. He currently dwells in believers as the living Lord.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is God's Spirit, who inspired Scripture and enables understanding of truth. He convicts of sin, calls people to salvation, and brings regeneration. The Holy Spirit cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church. He seals believers for final redemption and empowers them in worship, evangelism, and service. Spiritual gifts are still active today and should be used to build up the body of Christ. While every believer has the Holy Spirit, being filled with the Spirit requires intentional surrender, as commanded in Ephesians 5:18. The infilling may include manifestations like speaking in tongues, as described in Scripture.

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God's Spirit and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It reveals the principles by which God judges us; and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tested.

Salvation

Salvation is the redemption of the whole person, offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through His blood, Jesus obtained eternal redemption for believers. Salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification. Regeneration is the new birth, where believers are made new in Christ. Sanctification is the process, starting at regeneration, where believers are set apart for God’s purpose and grow in moral and spiritual maturity through the Holy Spirit. Glorification is the final, eternal state of the redeemed.

Water Baptism

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. While water baptism does not save an individual, it is the first commandment of obedience after a person has accepted Christ as personal Savior. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

The Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
